This has been an interesting week. I have not posted as much as I have in the last few weeks of doing P90X. I know that tracking my progress is important however as busy as I have been and wanting to get out in the nice weather we are having, took me away from the computer. Also Evony online has me addicted too.
I started getting a sharp stabbing pain in my side when doing standing side stretchs. I went to the chiropractor and amongst other back issues I have, my 7th vertebra was moved inwards. Normally a chiropractor adjusts your vertebrate from side to side or pushing them in. Somehow this vertebra moved in the opposite direction. He said it would be sore but could be fixed with a couple of visits. I asked questions about being restricted on exercises and he only stated to take it easy stretching the back.
I also officially hit the halfway mark for the first round of P90X! woho!

4/1/10 Week 6 Yoga X
Today was such a beautiful day outside. I really did not feel like doing my exercises today. I want to go outside and do something, anything. I forced myself to them though and I don't regret it. I have to remind myself sometimes how I feel afterwards. I always feel great and full of energy after working out.
My diet sucked today. I took in WAY too many carbs and probably fats. I also ate really late after waking up (almost 3 hours) and completing my workout. I have really been trying to maintain the no food in the stomach at least 1 hour before your workout rule. This is due to blood flow. If there is food in the stomach, blood flow is directed to the stomach for digestion. If your exercising you need the blood flow going to the muscles to support them. After my workout I had my recovery drink (BSN's Syntha 6) and waited too long before I had my first meal.
I have really been trying to do the 5 meals, smaller portion bit for my diet. Today I think my first meal was around 2:30P OR 3:00P after waking up at 11:00A. So my metabolism did not start until late in the afternoon. Then I ate 2 fast food burgers with cheese (mcd's cheeseburgers), as opposed to what I was originally going to make which was a low fat breakfast burrito with turkey bacon. Then I went out for a bit with the girlfriend. We then had pizza at the new local pizza place. automatically knowing that the pizza was going to be greasy, but for some reason I was craving it before I even got there. I also had wings with the dinner, which I could tell just from the taste of the sauce was loaded with sugar. I just couldn't seem to get away from it. I then had a small granola bar for a snack. I also did not have very many greens today, which does not help at all.
Also over the last couple of days my left knee has been bothering me. I am not sure what happened. When I put pressure on the knee going up and down steps I get shooting pain momentarily. It goes away just as quickly and I can not reproduce the pain by trying. I am not sure when or if I tweaked my knee. I do not have a history of knee issues of this is a little concerning. I should go get it looked at, but I honestly do not like going to the doctor. I do not remember the last time I had a physical, and while I trust my primary doctor I think he doesn't like me because I can't seem to keep appointments with him. In my defense, I am really un-organized, not that that is an acceptable excuse. I think I will give the knee a week and if its still bothering me come yoga next week, I will make an appointment. I have to remember that I am not getting any younger and that the years of mistreating my body are probably catching up with me.
